Chris Hopps - Grandview, OH - Executive Director

Chris began playing rugby as a Sophomore at Delaware Hayes Highs School. He played for 3 years being selected to the Ohio All Star team in 1995 and again in 1996. He moved on to play for Bowling Green State University as he studied Sociology.

Chris started coaching at Bowling Green State University. Under his guidance Bowling Green played in 6 Midwest Semifinals and 4 Midwest Finals. Bowling Green also advanced to the National Collegiate Round of 16 four times in seven years.

Chris apprentice coached under Roger Young - Youth Development Officer Wales Rugby Football Union 2001, Gerrie Germishuys - Springbok and Director of Recruiting for the University of Johannesburg, and Michael Dick - Director of Rugby for the University of Johannesburg. Chris was also selected for USA Rugby's Elite Coach Development Program in January 2007. During this program he was attached to the coaching staff at the USA Eagles Players Assembly in San Diego working under Dave Ellis - Skills coach IRANZ, Mick Byrne - All Backs Kicking and Catching Coach, and Mike Cron - All Blacks Scrum Coach. Following the San Diego assembly Chris was attached to the USA Falcons in the Vancouver, CA leg of the NA4 and the USA Eagles World Cup Camp in Aspen, CO. Chris has been the Midwest U-17 Head Coach and Program Director since 2006.

Currently, Chris is an account representative for Ashland Distribution Company a division of Ashland Inc. Chris has been selected for several Supply Chain Optimization Committees, and represents his region on the Special Events Committee.
